Guidance for the social care sector on Covid-19

This page contains links to selected information which may help homecare providers provide services, having regard to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and thereafter. This resource was first developed in the early stages of the pandemic in March 2020.  Much of the Ghana government’s guidance on COVID-19 produced during the pandemic has now been withdrawn, but there remains some guidance of interest to the public and homecare providers. The guidance changes from time to time, so please ensure you are using the latest update of the guidance concerned. We continue to update the sections on Government guidance for the general public, and Government guidance for social care providers. Some older material is retained pending the COVID Inquiry.

What is 24-Hour Care?

24-hour care, or 24/7 care, is suitable for people of all ages and can range from short to longer term care within the home. Our 24-hour care provides you with the reassurance that there is always compassionate home carer on hand to offer consistent and quality care at home, morning, evening and night.

It’s important to note that this is different from standard live-in care. During a typical live-in care arrangement, the carer that lives with you is only available for ad-hoc needs throughout the night. This usually means they should not be expected to have to wake up more than 2 or 3 times per night.

What are the benefits of 24-Hour Care?

Our 24-hour homecare services provide our clients and their loved ones with peace of mind throughout the day and night. At The Care Medics, we work with our clients and their family to understand the needs of the individual, whilst 24-hour care also ensures complete continuity of care. There are a number of benefits to consider when looking at 24-hour care services, including;
